Signs Of Coming Labor
I am 39 weeks pregnant with my firt baby. No signs of labor coming in. Are there any natural ways (food and exercises) to start labor?
No: Nosebleeds are more common during pregnancy due to increased congestion in your blood vessels. Nosebleeds can occur at any point during pregnancy and have more to do with a prior history of nosebleeds, or if you have recently been blowing your nose. They are not a sign of labor or preterm labor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I'm almost 34 weeks pregnant with my 5th kid. I have been getting back pain, head aches and loose stools. Are these signs of labor coming soon?
Maybe: Loose stools can cause contractions. The headache isn't likely related to labor. It could just be a headache, unless you have an elevated blood pressure. If the back pain is constant, its less likely labor. If every few minutes lasting 30-60 seconds its more likely contractions. The only way to know for sure is call your OB and see if they want you to get on a fetal monitor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

A migraine can also cause the same symptoms, but would have to be a diagnosis of exclusion so close to your due date. Normal labor does not typically start this way.. ...Read more

Please ask your OB: Any regular contractions or increased discharge, if u and baby is ok if u go into labor before 37 weeks then your doc will try to stop it, if your water breaks then it won't be stopped, so if u are worried call now so premature labor can be prevented rather than treated, and i always get an ultrasound on all of my pts between 34-36 weeks so i know what is going on, and don't go past your due date. ...Read more
They said she could have the baby at any time. What are some signs that she could be going in to labor?
Many different: She may feel less discomfort under ribs as baby drops. May be peeing more often as more pressure on bladder. Then there is "nesting" - that spurt of energy before labor ensues where she just wants to clean everything in site. Can also lose mucous plug - kind of a sticky, gooey, sometimes slightly bloody discharge. And finally there are contractions! now it's real! ...Read more
