Not yet known: Forskolin is said to increase production of thyroid hormone, but as Dr. Rhoads says, research is limited at best. One study showed it increases thyroid production when given to thyroid from dogs in the lab but a human study found no change in thyroid levels in those who took it. Safe to take: There really shouldn't be any side effects at that dose. That is the recommended dose for many brands of over the counter vitamin c supplements. As with any pill/drug/supplement you may have upset stomach from taking it or have an allergic response to it.
