Tonsils post-infx: It sounds like the infection cleared up ok (azithromycin is not my favorite drug for strep, it works ok), but you have more concern about chronic changes present in your tonsils and that is what is likely affecting your ear as well. It's also probable your apparent strep throat is really a viral infection with rash. Maybe: You can always play the odds and see what happens. Like the folk in the early 1900s.They also had strep ; it passed. However, about 1/200 developed 1of 3 patterns of complications. The only way to know if you had strep was to test it.
