Is there any treatment for minoxidil side effects. My son has all the worst side effects listed and no doctor think it is anything wrong with him ?

Need more info: To answer how to help with the side effects I would have to know which side effects he is having as there are many listed. I am sorry you don't feel like you are getting any help from the doctor. I think you need to be honest and say so to him or her as you are the spokesperson and advocate for your son and you know him best. If all else fails I would find a doctor that will listen! ...Read more

Is minoxidil& finasteride is the best solution for pattern hair loss(genetic). How to avoid the side effects such as erectile dysfunction ? TQ docs ;)

Effective: The only medical treatments that are proven effective for baldness (other than hair transplantation) are Finasteride oral pills and Minoxidil topical. It is less expensive to purchase the 5mg pill (Proscar) and split the pills in 4 (use a pill splitter). Neither treatment causes a higher incidence of erectile dysfunction. However, smoking tobacco is strongly associated with erectile dysfunction. ...Read more

Male hair loss: Male pattern hair loss is common. Topical Minoxidil is the first treatment to try, and is otc so it's easy to get. Very few side effects, but it only works really well to regrow hair for 1/3 of men (1/3 get peach fuzz, 1/3 get nothing). Oral Finasteride 1mg helps keep what you have, but does not regrow a lot of hair. Side effects (libido, etc.) are uncommon, but possible. See your doc... ...Read more

Are there side effects from using Rogaine (minoxidil) foam (womens)? Can you where a shower cap to bed so you don't get it anywhere on your face? Thank you

Hardly ever: Apply to scalp. Measured amount. No need for shower cap. A few people get local reaction, but I have never seen it. Helps some women keep more hair if used religiously twice a day for years. Generic 2% minoxidil is about as good as any other form and costs $4 a month. ...Read more

I have a clearly noticeable receding hair line. Should i used rogaine (minoxidil) or will it have side effects?

I have a clearly noticeable receding hair line. Should i used rogaine (minoxidil) or will it have side effects?

Treat your hairline: Even though rogaine/minoxidil is not FDA-approved for hair regrowth in the hairline, it's possible to see some improvement. The improvement you get will depend on the amount of weak hair in the area. Dead is dead, gone is gone. But if the hair follicle is alive, there's a chance minox, laser or prp will help. Otherwise, a transplant is your only option. Try Formula 82M minox to avoid side effects. ...Read more
