What are the effects of smoking Marijuana while taking prescribed concerta (54mg)?

What are the effects of smoking Marijuana while taking prescribed concerta (54mg)?

Hard to say: Methylphenidate is used to treat ADD. Cannabis, particularly smoking it can aggravate ADD symptoms. People with ADD are at greater risk of developing addictions and hence cannabis can present problems there as well. On the upside if cannabis is being used to help with PTSD or pain problems I could envision it along with the methylphenidate improving ADD symptoms. Advise edibles only. ...Read more

What negative side effects does marijuana have on minors?

What negative side effects does marijuana have on minors?

Lowered IQ?: Adolescents can have the same side effects as adults, such as anxiety & confusion, but studies suggest the developing adolescent brain may be damaged by regular cannabis use. Other studies suggest little harm. Scientists agree it is less harmful than alcohol but there is little consensus beyond this. I advise avoiding regular use until age 18, at least until further research is done. See comment:. ...Read more

How often do people become ill from unknowingly consuming tainted marijuana? What could side effects be?

Hard to know: Marijuana can be adulterated with all kind of things -- from pesticides to other hallucinogens. I am feeling side effects from marijuana 24 hours after I smoked. When will this go away? I am 5'8 130 pounds and the weed was strong.

Up to few more days: Thc, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, has a half-life of 2-10 days depending on the amount smoked. If the half-life is 3 days that means it will take 3 days for half of it to leave your system & 6 days for 3/4 of it to be eliminated. Despite this most people only feel effects for several hours after smoking. The effects will lessen day by day. Sounds like this is not a good herb for you. ...Read more

Bipolar meds have so many side effects. Wouldn't it be better 2 smoke marijuana as bi polar people tell me they feel better than the meds? Is it harmful

DON'T THINK SO: I have no idea what the long term effects are - possibly including psychosis. The goal should be to have as stable a life as possible and I doubt that pot will do that.
Properly balanced meds and real support can help a whole lot.
Very hard to live a productive life by being happy and out of it - and depressive and manic phases are most likely to recur anyway.
Not the best solution. ...Read more

Will a marijuana cookie help my 75 year mother with her pain from hip surgery? Is it safe? Any negative side effects? Pills make her sick.

BE CAREFUL!: I wouldn't give an elderly person a controlled substance (or street drug) without a prescription. Marijuana can be very dangerous if not used in the appropriate way, particularly if it is laced on the street (as they often can be) with any number of substances. Maybe physical therapy, psychotherapy, or a pain management doctor would be a better choice for your mom. ...Read more
