Common side effect: Unfortunately baclofen does cause constipation as a side effect in many patients. Cases of intestinal obstruction have been linked to the use of baclofen as well. My recommendation is to either reduce the dose or to visit your GP and change over to an alternative medication such as Orphenadrine. You can also try increasing your fluid and fibre intake as well as taking mild laxatives. ...Read more

What are the downsides to Baclofen? I've been prescribed it for chronic burping, most likely related to anxiety. I have read a lot of things online about it having horrible withdrawal effects, but what about during taking it?

Baclofen, like many: prescription (and non prescription) drugs will have effects, side-effects and possible interactions with other medicines. What must be weighed is if the effects are desirable (ie alleviate a symptom) and OUTWEIGH any side effects. Drowsiness is the big one for this particular Drug.
