Cn I get food poisoning a month later? Can I get food poisoning from putting my hand down the side of sofa if dirty down there & not wash hands after.

No: Please forgive my frankness. If you've grown up in a family of cleanliness freaks, you have my sympathy. You need to leave this behind or you'll make yourself and others miserable. Our bodies are designed to handle the common exposures of daily life. Food poisoning is going to happen because of faulty preparation or storage of food. The onset is over a few hours and it's short. Can salmonella food poisoning have any serious long term effects after treated/cured? Can it lead to different problems? Ex: chickenpox into shingles?

No long term effects: Once in a while, people become carriers of Salmonella for a few weeks or months after they get over the initial infection. However, this is rare and harmless.
