Just started dulera. Was on symbicort (budesonide and formoterol). Is side-effect profile similar? Any more likely to have sinus symptoms on dulera? How about cataracts?
I don't think the side effect profile is any different between the two but the actual side effects will be depended on the total dose of steroid included.
There is a minor risk for cataracts with any inhaled steroid but this is a minor issue when compared to uncontrolled asthma. As for response, some people do prefer one over another- a toss-up. ...Read more

My doc put me on the advair inhaler. After using for a few days im stuffy and at night I feel like I've eat cotton. Is this a side affect to this?
No and perhaps: Asthma inhalers should not lead to nasal congestion at night. (allergies certainly can.) inhalers can trigger cough and the propellant in the inhaler can taste funny and feel like a coating within the mouth, cause hoarseness etc especially if a person doesn't rinse and spit after using the inhaler. Using a holding chamber may decrease mouth side effects. ...Read more

Budesonide/formotero: I assume you are taking it for asthma. Long acting b2 agonists such as formoterol have a black box warning to increase the risk of death.
