Well - tolerated: My patients have tolerated Buspar (buspirone) exceptionally well. The most common side effect they have reported is dizziness. Other potential side effects can include: headache, feeling tired, ringing of ears, paradoxical feelings of restlessness or anxiety, blurring of vision, nausea, GI upset, dry mouth & congestion. Priapism would be a very rare but serious side effect. See below. ...Read more

Agitation on buspar (buspirone): In my experience this can happen with some people and I don't think it resolves with time. Just because it is approved for anxiety treatment doesn't mean it helps all types of anxiety. Talk with your prescriber. ...Read more

Can Buspar (buspirone) bi used one dose a day only for reversing the sexual side effect?

Maybe? : Almost 60% of people switched to Buspar (buspirone) actually have an improvement of their sexual function. Each person is a bit different though. I stopped taking lexipro after 5 days because of side effects. Can I resume taking buspar (buspirone) the next day? I was on buspar (buspirone) before the lexipro.

Talk to prescriber: The doctors who prescribed both drugs (I assume they are from different prescribers) are who you need to talk to, or at least your pharmacist. Without knowing what your health history is, what medications have been used before, and what other medications you are taking, it is impossible to advise you. Buspar (buspirone) is not an antidepressant, and is only for anxiety, while lexapro can work for both. ...Read more

Which is best for G A D . Buspar (buspirone) or Remeron and which has the least side effects. Thanks?

Too many!: You already take drugs appropriate for GAD and either of the ones you wish to add are VERY risky in combination w/ the Lexapro (escitalopram). Neither is advised. Tere are also less severe warnings about their interaction w/ your diazepam. Don't expect everything to be done by pills. There is strong and massive research that shows these are all more effective in combo w/ CBT therapy. You need to get involved! ...Read more
