Shoulder Popping When Rotating
My shoulder is popping and grinding with no pain, what can this be? It only happens when rotating the shoulder like a windmill.
My shoulder is popping and grinding with pain. It pops and grinds while rotating it. What could be the cause of this? Do I need surgery to repair?
Need a careful histo: Ry and physical exam and then some imaging tests and maybe some lab tests to establish a sound diagnosis. With that in hand, a rehabilitative program can be devised for you which MIGHT involve physical Therapy and might involve surgery. In general, the most conservative approach (non-surgical), though longer, works best in the long term. ...Read more

Prior the exercises warm your shoulder up with a warm shoulder or heating pad. Try not to cause pain while doing these exercises, if anything hurts, back off a little. Treatment with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such ibuprofen or naproxen may also be helpful. ...Read more

Muscle tension: If these popping and cracking are painless, like when you crack your knuckles, it is probably nothing to worry about and they will go away in a day or too. If your tension in your back reflects very tight muscles, you need to learn how to stretch and or get a therapeutic (deep tissue) massage. If there is pain you should go in to a Doc. To get an exam. Physical therapy would help. ...Read more
