Prob not: As an orthopedic surgeon who treats many patients w/ shoulder instability I would say there is no proven benefit to wearing compression shirts for instability. Many times a herniated disc in the neck can cause arm pain especially if you have not improved with the medications and physical therapy. Hard to say: There are multiple potential causes. The two most common would be a rotator cuff problem or shoulder instability. The rotator cuff muscles raise your arm away from your body and when they are injured raising your arm can be painful.
