Yes: It is better to be to tight than too loose and need surgery to stabilize. Unless you have severely restricted motion, then you have developed a frozen shoulder and need to be evaluated before you start pt. There is also the unusual possibility that you are still dislocated. See an orthopedic surgeon. ...Read more

Several things: It could be a rotator cuff issue, a tendonitis (inflammation of the tendon), bursitis (inflammation of bursa between the tendons), or something called frozen shoulder which is a painful condition where the shoulder literally feels frozen. Shoulder or AC: Sounds like acromioclavicluar (ac) joint instability. Did you dislocate your shoulder or ac joint 9 years ago? Many people mistakenly think an ac dislocation is a shoulder dislocation. I would see an orthopedist for advice. ...Read more
