Not really: I advise my patients never to force a foot to accommodate a shoe. While bunions generally aren't caused by shoes, a tight-toed shoe will certainly exert pressure on the great toe in the direction of deformity. Shoes should have a thumb width between the toe of the shoe and the longest toe.
