Should I Transfer 1 Embryo Or 2
Hi, can a I do walk and little stretching exercises when I've my embryo transferred after one or two days?
I had two embryos transferred on day 5, one at the blastocyst stage. Six days later my beta hCG was 12, 72 hours later my beta was 23. Thoughts?
The night after IVF ET, fresh transfer, I had strong cramps and ovarian pain for one hour. It is possible to have expelled the two embryos?
Unlikely: What a stressful time and source of worry! I would probably have called my fertility specialist if I were you, but expelling the embryos is unlikely. Many factors are working together to try to get them to implant, and these factors are stronger than you would think. I wouldn't worry about the cramps, etc. Just try to keep calm, breathe deeply, follow your doctor's instructions, and believe! ...Read more

Hi I just had 2 embryos transferred both 8 cells one was high quality and one good. Are these good embryos do you think?
Discussion: You mention that one was high quality and one was good quality. That is all the information that we have to go on. I would contact your specialist. They can usually tell you the rating scale of each embryo. They can also give you the associated success rates best on each embryo grade. ...Read more
Hi, we had 2 embryos transferred on day 2. One is 6 cell embryo and other is 2 cell embryo., gud grade Could you please let us know the chances of pg?
Less than 50%: Here in the U.S. we perform either day 3 embryo transfers (ETs) or day 5 embryo transfers. Probably 90+% of the ETs here are day 5. So you having a day 2 ET is a little odd. I would say that the 6 cell embryo gives you a much better chance to conceive than the 2 cell. Also, you're at a very good age for IVF. Still, with these 2 embryos I would estimate your chance at around 40% to conceive. ...Read more
Is it possible on the day 5 of embryo transfer to have one embryo with only 2 cells and one with 6 cells?! thank you
Definitely!: You don't give much about your et, but if they are from the same egg-retrieval, embryos definitely grow at different rates. A 2-cell is likely lagging behind if the 6-cell is developing normally. Are these from a frozen transfer? Normal embryos can lose cells from freezing and thawing in some cases. Good luck. ...Read more
Looking at embryo photos how can one determine if the quality is good enough for a successful transfer?
Ask: There is no worthwhile short answer (that is worth a flip.) you really need to talk with your re and, if possible, your embryologist (s). Embryo grading is based on standards but still very subjective. They are helpful pros; you cannot get a short course in embryo grading on the internet. Best wishes! ...Read more
If your having heavy bleeding I would be concerned you've lost both the embryos.
With heavy bleeding that usually represents loss of progesterone which occurs if the pregnancy doesn't take.
Just for clarification: Heavy bleeding would be like a normal period amount of bleeding. I would recommend you talk to your doctor if your having heavy bleeding. ...Read more

First ultrasound last 09/22/2014 there were two embryos. One 6 weeks and 5 days, other 6 weeks and 3 days. However, no heartbeat was found.?
Need follow up: You will need a follow up ultrasound in 1 -2 weeks to evaluate the status of the findings. Sometimes the embryo is too small to clearly show a heartbeat prior to 6 weeks. Your doctor will likely correlate this with your lab results. ...Read more

I had two embryo transfers (day 3) on 21st april. On 2nd may my hcg was 209 and on 4th may it was 211. Clearly it didn't double, what's going on?
Embryos stop growing: When hCG fails to double in 48 h after the first pregnancy test, it usually means that the embryo failed to develop. It is called chemical pregnancy. It could be due to abnormal embryo, or uterine enviroment not suitable for embryo development. Please be ready to try again, you are very young, and your chance of success is excellent! ...Read more
Success rate of day 3 versus day 5 embryo transfer for IVF. Is one method more successful than the other?
Need more space: To give the full answer. Short answer: they're the same, it depends on the embryo number and embryo quality. Day 5 allows transfer of fewer embryos (less risk of multiples) while keeping rates at the sam level. Could write a book about this, please consult with your MD or could do an online consult full details. Your doc is always first choice! Good wishes. ...Read more
I'm currently 4 days past my two day 5AA embryo transfer and I feel no symptoms, shouldn't implantation have happened by now? Did my transfer fail?
Embryo transfer: Not every viable embryo when transferred does in fact attach to the wall of the womb, and at "4 days past" transfer, there would be no "symptoms" of implantation yet. If you wait another week to ten days, and get serum HCG test, it will tell you if a viable pregnancy is present. ...Read more
