Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative, should I wait to take another one?

Do: Did you have unprotected sex? Did you miss a period? If yes to both, it would be useful to re do the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine. ...Read more

Is there any specific pregnancy test recommended to take? How much would it cost to buy one?

Is there any specific pregnancy test recommended to take? How much would it cost to buy one?

About $14 for 3tests: Any urine pregnancy test from the drugstore. A test done correctly will give a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (or when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and therefore lead to a repeat test. If a woman has her normal regular periods, then she is not pregnant. ...Read more

What is the earliest one should take a pregnancy test, and what are the earliest signs of pregnancy?

What is the earliest one should take a pregnancy test, and what are the earliest signs of pregnancy?

2 to 3 weeks: Testing too late adds to the anxiety of waiting. Testing too early means you will not be totally sure that you are not pregnant, even if the result is negative. Generally, my advice is to test 2 weeks after intercourse. If result is positive, then you know early. If result is negative and you still have no menstruation, test again 3 weeks after intercourse to be sure. ...Read more

Can u fall pregnant after one night of sex after getting coil out and how long does it take before u should do a pregnancy test?

Can u fall pregnant after one night of sex after getting coil out and how long does it take before u should do a pregnancy test?

3 weeks after sex: A urine pregnancy test done correctly will give a reliable result 3 weeks after sex. If a coil just came out yesterday, a woman's body may not be able to get pregnant yet... But it is best to use contraception from the time of coil removal, if still trying to avoid pregnancy. ...Read more

I took a pregnancy test in the early morning and it came out faintly positive but noticiable. Is it for sure positive or should I take another one?

I took a pregnancy test in the early morning and it came out faintly positive but noticiable. Is it for sure positive or should I take another one?

Depends on why: One can repeat a urine pregnancy test next week. There is no need to repeat it sooner than that. If the reason one did a pregnancy test is because of a missed period (when normally one's periods are always regular), then it's likely that today's result is a "for sure positive". If a NORMAL-appearing menstrual period comes before the repeat test, then one is not pregnant and doesn't have to retest. ...Read more

What if i take a pregnancy test and the one is darkest and the other line is like a color pink? Iam a pregnant or no? Plssssssss answer my question.

Probably but depends: This somewhat depends on the brand of test; most, though, will have one line that is called the "control" that will always be solid and darker. The other line on most tests will show up if the person is pregnant. Sometimes this is much lighter than the control. I would recommend checking the package to see if that's what it shows and seeing your physician for confirmation. Best of luck to you! ...Read more

I took a pregnancy test tonight and it came back negative but it has only been 4 days since i ovulated. When should I take another one?

Trust the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctor's office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more
