Should I Take Iron Selenium Together
I'm on two anti-convulsants medications causing my hair to fall out drastically. I read that selenium, iron & b-vitamins can be depleted on these meds?
I am low thyroid with hasimoto. My doctor only check ft4, tsh. I ask here for ft3, iron, selenium but she told me no. Is enough to do nly ft4&tsh?
Thyroid tests yes: Your doctor is correct that you need thyroid test to monitor your thyroid function. If there are other medical reasons for the additional testing this would be up to her decision. You can discuss this with your physician or ask her to have you see a consultant to help, you can see an endocrinologist regarding the status of your thyroid ...Read more
In standard doses is it safe to take these together? Milk Thistle, Selenium, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Magnesium, Potassium + B Complex? On Benzos sometimes
Probably ok. ..: They are few if any studies evaluating whether specific herbs/supplements can be taken together. A rule of thumb: a large dose of anything should be taken at a separate time as it may compete for another's absorption. There are reports of supplements interfering with benzodiazepine withdrawal, but occasional use shouldn't be a factor. Careful with those, though! They're addicting! ...Read more

MCV level 78.3 MCH level 25.1 Can I take Iron pills and B12 Together? If so will twice a day be fine?
Yes to both:
It would be better to take iron with food to avoid stomach irritation. It does not matter for B12. You may wish to substitute a multivitamin for B12 once a day. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

Iv been asked to take iron and folic acid. Should I take them together? Should I take them together or should I take them separately.
Either is OK: I'm a fan of taking all your medications together so that you can remember to take them, although some medicines don't absorb as well if taken with others. You should be able to take these together, since they come together in vitamin supplements; they shouldn't interact in any bad ways. ...Read more
Omeprazole 20mg cannot take wif iron tablet (sangobion)? I already take for 2mths together with iron tablet but wif 2hrs apart. Scare iron not absorb
You're OK: Iron is absorbed in a more acid environment, that's why you need to separate the pills. But ppis like Omeprazole can lower your acid so far that they impact iron absorption all day. They also can make osteoporosis worse, lead to infections like pneumonia and colitis, and shouldn't be taken forever. If you have reflux, you should consider an antireflux procedure or surgery. ...Read more

I heard magnesium & iron compete for absorption. Is it safe to take a magnesium & iron supplement together? If not, how long should I wait in between?
It depends, safe, why?:
Poorly absorbed forms of magnesium like mag. Oxide interfere with iron absorption whereas water-soluble forms like mag. Aspartate may not interfere- see http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Gov/pubmed/8024640
it's safe to take together but might be prudent to take 2 hours apart.
But iron deficiency is rare in men, even in men with anemia. I advise against men taking iron unless you're sure you're deficient. ...Read more
I took 2 vitacrave gummy multivitamins, and 1 slow release iron pill, I started to feel sick to stomach, is it bad to take these two together?
For you, maybe: I doubt we could find any reports or documentation that we know these two things are bad to take together. But taking iron, even by itself, can frequently cause nausea as a side effect. It is not impossible to theorize that the presence of the softened gummies in your stomach influenced the absorption of the iron. It sounds like its a good idea for YOU not to take these two together. Stay well:) ...Read more

It's totally absurd: Hi. Sorry to insult your quack, but taking tyrosine and elemental iodine makes ZERO sense for someone with hypothyroidism. It makes me question the diagnosis in the first place. The l-thyroxine and T3 (liothyronine) doses you're on would make many people HYPERthyroid (that's a high T3 (liothyronine) dose I only used to use temporarily in stages of thyroid cancer treatment...WITHOUT l-thyroxine).
