I have an ulceration on my labia. I do not believe it is sexually transmitted. I am wondering if I need to see a doctor or should I let it heal?
Herpes?: Genital herpes is by far the most common of genital ulceration, so that's a good bet despite your belief it isn't sexually transmitted. Herpes often causes its first recognized symptoms long after catching it, so it's often an issue when there have been no recent risky sexual exposures. See a doctor ASAP; diagnosis is most accurate and treatment most effective within 1-2 days of onset. Good luck! ...Read more

What to do if I have an appointment to see if I have endometriosis. If I do have it, will they do a laparotomy on me even though im not ttc?
Laparoscopy: An expert in endometriosis treatment will be a specialist in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. I make the majority of my practice out of endometriosis care, and do not find a laparotomy to be an advantage in almost anything I do. Laparoscopic surgery can be used to resect/remove endometriosis, which leads to the longest term benefit for the condition. ...Read more

I think I may have an ulcer but am not sure. I took a laxative--If I do have an ulcer will I be okay?
No problem: A laxative will not cause problems with your ulcer. But if you needed a laxative because you are constipated, I recommend 1-2 tablespoons per day of psyllium husks. You should be having an easy bowel movement every day. If not, you need more fiber (psyllium husks)--and possibly magnesium. You can't OD on magnesium, because it will give you diarrhea. For the GERD/ulcer, I recommend Mastic Gum. ...Read more
