According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

What's cause my blood pressure to be a little high on the bottom number, could it be a possible sign of preganacy? Never had this problem before.
No: It's not an early sign of pregnancy. Be sure you're measuring it at complete rest for 10 minutes, use a validated, properly sized arm cuff, measure at the level of your heart, take measurements on multiple days and average them. If it averages >90, consider salt intake, weight, and be checked for kidney function with urinalysis and blood sample. Avoid licorice, XS alcohol, recreational drugs. ...Read more

Should i be concerned if my blood pressure is 150\100. Today i took telmisartan 20. When will my blood pressure will be normal?
Unimportant: Try not to concern yourself with single readings -they have no physiologic significance. Instead, pay attention to averages. The more measurements you make, the more accurate the average will be. Measure when you've rested for at least 10 minutes. Be sure the cuff is large enough for your arm. Keep your arm at heart level. Ignore fluctuations - these are normal. ...Read more
Should I be concerned if my blood pressure is 140/100 and I just started taking cardiazem (diltiazem) two weeks ago?
Should i be concerned if my blood pressure stays high after exercise, higher than before exercise. Why?
Cool down: There is a physiologic sequence to BP changes immediately following exercise: first it rises, then it gradually falls to levels below baseline. To see the full effect, take your blood pressure once a minute for the first 10 minutes after exercise while you remain lying down at complete rest (better yet, have someone else check it for you). ...Read more
Should i be concerned if my blood pressure is still pretty high at 150/90 even though I am taking 160mg of Diovan (valsartan) with 12.5 of hctz?
High BP: Being on medication with uncontrolled BP meds is a point you need to discuss with your physician (p). One of the things that you can bring up is that you are not on a maximum dose of Diovan (valsartan) (d). The maximum dose of d-hctz is 320 mg of d and 25 mg of hctz. Perhaps of you were increased to that dose, your BP would be controlled. Please discuss this point with your p to see if that will work. ...Read more
