Could use your help docs! my doctor told me that i cannot get rid of scars from chemical peel. You have undergo laser treatment right?

Seeing is believing: A doctor who has seen you has more information than we can get from you online. Scars cannot be completely removed. They are how we heal; however, sometimes additional treatment can help reduce a scar. Consult several board certified plastic surgeons in your area, and be realistic about what can be done. ...Read more

What do you suggest if I have deep acne scar.Should i go with laser treatment for removing those scars?

It depends.: It depends on the scar. If you have diffuse, irregular scars, and erbium or CO2 laser would help. If you have flexible scars that come to the surface when stretched, then filler materials like hyaluronic acid can help. Other lasers can help with red scars. Ice-pick, deep scars can be removed surgically. ...Read more

Should i go to a cosmetic plastic surgeon, dermatolgist or esthetician for acne scar/hyperpigmentation. I would like laser produces or peels done.

Should i go to a cosmetic plastic surgeon, dermatolgist or esthetician for acne scar/hyperpigmentation. I would like laser produces or peels done.

See a Specialist: You should see either a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon who specializes in acne scarring, cosmetic surgery and lasers. They would own many lasers and have many years of experience treating acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and other disorders. Chemical acid peels do not work as well as lasers but some doctors do not own any lasers and only offer chemical peels. But lasers cost more. ...Read more

Can you tell me about getting treatment for keloid on chest by laser co2 fractional yet?

Can you tell me about getting treatment for keloid on chest by laser co2 fractional yet?

Keloids: Depending on the size of the keloid you I tend to excise them and/or inject with steroid. I personally have ablated keloids with an Erbium and CO2 laser but without much long term success. Fractional CO2 for a smaller keloid or hypertrophic scar may be beneficial, but if it is fairly large I'd excise it. Good luck ...Read more

Hello Doctor, I have large pores on my face. dermatologist told me to do laser treatment to remove it .is laser treatment really works and is it safe?

Safe and works well: It doesn't get rid of it, just reduces the size of the pores. Find the right laser as not all lasers are alike. Stay away from IPL and check out YAG lasers. You will need a few treatments. It's totally worth it. Get a free consult with different doctors before committing to one. Make sure someone very experienced is doing it too, not just a salon person, but someone who's medically trained by a dr. ...Read more

My Derm. Referred me for a treatment to another Dermatologist. Called to make sure with regular Dr. about treatment & he said call the refer Dr. why

He/she does not know: Maybe your "regular doc" is not aware or know about the proposed/referred treatment and so cannot answer you. Your Derm doc should have explained to you why you are being referred. Or reason could be that the referral likely will require the "regular doc"--I assume your primary care doc--to do/authorize the referral (time&resource needed) and does not want to do this...not paid. Good luck. ...Read more
