Must address cause: This is difficult to answer. There are different types of procedures with different post op healing times. Every patient heals differently and if a person returns to their regular activity to soon this may prolong healing. Has the doctor addressed the true cause of the bunion. Do not need removal: A plantar calcaneal spur very seldon need to be removed and only on very special circustances.The heel spur is not the source of the heel pain, the source of the heel pain is due to plantar fasciitis and in rare occasion due to entrapment of a very small nerve(called the nerve of the abdq).Conservative measures work very well the majority of the time. ...Read more
