Shortness Of Breath But No Cough
I have palpitations, shortness of breath and a cough after Botox in neck yesterday. How dangerous is Botox? Three times this has happened. End Botox
The cough reflex is a protective mechanism that uses muscles in your throat and chest to expel mucous and saliva that may contain pathogens that would otherwise possibly be inhaled via aerosol or to expel pathogens infecting the throat and respiratory system. Cough benefits the host by reducing load and benefits the pathogen which may then spread via aerosol. ...Read more
64 year old COPD patient complaining of increasing shortness of breath and productive cough of thick. What would docs do?
Could B exacerbation: Any changes of the normal could be an exacebation of copd. Typical would be antibiotics not just for infection but antiflamatory properties as well. May need adjustments to medications as well. Need to see md especially if above occurs or an incease in rescue inhalers is noted.

My mom has many nodules on her lungs, nausea, fatigue, shortness of breath, and a cough she's had for over a month. Could it be serious?
Yes; smoker? Nodules: ... are worrisome in the lungs unless the cause is known to be benign (only way to establish that is by bronchoscopy & biopsy). We don't have all the information here... did your mom ever smoke tobacco? A persistent cough is never a good sign in an (ex-)smoker. Have her talk to a doctor or use HealthTap Prime to go over her history & get a diagnosis. Only then will we know if it's serious or not.

I have difficulty breathing (shortness of breath) along with coughing and wheezing sound during winter season especially night time.
Asthma?: If this is ongoing, my first step would be to rule out asthma. Corticosteroids produced by the body wax and wane depending on circadian rhythm, which results in frequent nighttime symptoms for asthmatics. Shortness of breath, chest tightness, coughing are typical. Primary care provider, Allergy/Immunology specialist, or Pulmonologist are good places to start.

On 250/50 advair/albuterol. Third time I've stopped mid-run because of serious shortness if breath, wheezing, and coughing. Change or up medication?
Go see your doctor: Advair 250/50 is different from & does not contain albuterol. Advair is a combination of an inhaled corticosteroid and a long acting beta agonist while albuterol is a short acting one. Advair is used to prevent asthma attacks while albuterol is used to rescue you from one. If you've had 3 attacks despite advair, you need to check w/your doc. Make sure you're using proper technique, too. Spacer?See 1 more doctor answer
