Short Term Memory Loss (Overview)

Short term memory literally holds memories for approximately 30 seconds unless we use strategies like "chunking" for phone numbers to help us retain the memory for a few seconds longer. Long term memory goes through a process called "long-term potentialisation" where the memory is stored in the hippocampus and other areas. That's the reason why short -term memories are more susceptible to loss
