Depends: If the blood clots were in the vein where her dialysis catheter was, this can be a catheter-related thrombosis, estimated to occur with as many as 8% of central lines. If she was on dialysis because of a serious illness where she was bedridden for some period of time, she could have developed DVT in the legs because of inactivity. Variable.: She may not develop gangrene and she may not need an amputation. If would be difficult to predict such a thing without an actual physical exam and evaluation of clinical tests. Discuss her case with her physician, and get the appropriate treatment. ...Read more

Clotted catheter: You are referring to a central venous catheter (cvc) when you mention a dialysis tube. He may have not received enough Heparin at the end of his dialysis session to prevent clots. Could be: Stress can do unbelievable things and create a problem out of nowhere. It is expected.: Smoking increases the risk of anovulation and causes short luteal phases quitting therefore will eliminate these problems although initially you'll have shorter luteal phases than those of never smokers.
