Check b12: Abstinence from alcohol will definitely improve your memory and focus but it may take months. Alcohol abuse can cause significant nutritional and vitamin deficiencies. Have your doctor do bloodwork such as B12 levels and start taking a good multivitamin and eat a varied diet. Do mind games, exercise and laugh. Also find out if you have sleep apnea and treat it.
