Short Segment Barrett's Esophagus Treatment
Son had upper GI and dr said he had barrets esophogus but biopsy was negative. He has gerd, takes nexium (esomeprazole). Why discrepancy? F/u needed future?
Is barretts esophagus considered an inflamatory condition? Would having barrets with no displasia make CRP level high?

I have daily acid reflux, NEG h pylori. MD said no concern. What's best treatment to prevent ulcers, stricture and barrets esophagus ? Herbs? Diet?
Barrett's esophagus: Surveillance for barrett's esophagus depended on the severity of the disease. If you have no dysplasia, repeat egd in 3 years. If you have low grade dysplasia, repeat egd in 6 months (if this egd is normal, repeat egd yearly). If you have high grade dysplasia, please discuss with your GI physician for options.
