What to do if I have a really short neck and it's been bothering me for a while. Is there any way to lengthen it?

What to do if I have a really short neck and it's been bothering me for a while. Is there any way to lengthen it?

No: There is really no way to "lengthen" the neck in a skeletally mature adult. Even when we use traction, the minimal lengthening of the neck that occurs is not long standing. I feel like im choking since I started getting a shorter neck. What can I do?

Length of neck...: How long or short your neck is doesn't have much to do with swallowing... It's what inside that counts. If you're having difficulty swallowing food, feel that food is getting "stuck" halfway down your throat, or that it often goes down the "wrong pipe"... Time to see your doc! They will examine you and might do a "barium swallow" to see how well the food moves down your throat. Best of luck! ...Read more

The doctor told me that the baby neck is shorter than usual. So he examined her and said that one of her neck bones are attached to the spinal cord?

I would meet with the doc & clarify the issue. ...Read more
