Short Labor Less Then Three Hours
If I have fast pregnancies, is it possible to schedule induced labor to reduce complications from precipitous delivery.
Sure - talk to OBGYN: Precipitous labor and deliveries in your past make the request for elective labor induction at 39-40 weeks completely reasonable and legitimate. Talk to your obstetrician to see if that can be arranged; if not, seek second opinion. Best of luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Labor: When the contractions are painful and five minutes apart for at least an hour it is time to be seen in labor and delivery. If you feel your pain is severe you should be promptly evaluated. If you are having trouble breathing then you should be seen in the ER. Over the counter medications such as Omeprazole are safe for use for heartburn. ...Read more

Is there anything i can take or do to help put me into labor in at a dilated to a three but not effaced
Time: Much as we hate to admit it sometimes there is not much we can do outside of the hospital to hurry up labor. Once in the hospital the labour can be started, or hurried up by the actions of your OB doctor. Call the office and see if these methods might be appropriate for you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I am 35wks pregnant and i keep having short, sharp pains down in my pelvic area, is this a sign of labor?
Can a d&e (4-28-15) make me unable to conceive ? I'm 21 I had 2 successful labors and deliveries 2009/2013 and three abortions can I still get preg.
Yes, you can: d & c's and d & e's usually don't cause infertility. There is a remote chance that any instrumentation of the uterus can cause scarring in the cavity but this is very unlikely. i would encourage you to consider some form of contraception, however. it is always better to prevent pregnancy than it is to terminate. ...Read more
How long after I stop getting Progesterone shots will labor start? Cervix already short, not dilated.
Varies: Progesterone is a great medication proven to reduce pretty labor risk. If by injection, injections are usually given weekly. Or some use daily suppositories of progesterone. Most continue the meds until 36-37 weeks. After last dose of injection, it is assumed to work for 7 days. Suppositories effects are done when they stop use. Most say a week week period of working is realistic after last dose. ...Read more
I had cellulitis on my back over labor day (starting sept. 1st), it cleared up and then appeared the next week on my side. Today, the red, bumpy, raised, hot and somewhat hard rash appeard on my abdamon. This is the third seperate area and three weeks.
Wrong diagnosis: Cellulitis is basically a visible inflammation (itis) of the skin and soft tissues (red, hot, swollen and tender) . It can be caused by many things including sunburn (radiation), trauma (sprained ankle) or allergies. It need not be caused by bacteria. What you describe sounds more like a contact allergy as infections do not resolve and recur like that, allergic rashes do. Get a new opinion. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
How long can early labor last? I'm 36 weeks and three days. Went to hospital with contractions five minutes apart and only dilated 1 cm.
Not labor: If you are not dilating, you are not in labor. You really don't want to be in labor at 36 weeks anyway. If you are dehydrated, you will have contractions. They don't so anything but they can be pretty painful. So, if you are having contractions, you should assume you are dehydrated. Lay down and drink lots of water. Real labor won't stop. ...Read more
I'm 37 weeks pregnant having a lot of back pain and short sharp pains in abdomen baby dropped last week could I be going into labor?
It's possible: Braxton Hicks contractions are "false" labor, which is when the muscle fibers of the uterus begin practicing for the real deal. It's annoying for sure, but also reassuring that your body is just getting ready. Make sure you're following up with your care provider for exams to confirm. ...Read more
