Sure - talk to OBGYN: Precipitous labor and deliveries in your past make the request for elective labor induction at 39-40 weeks completely reasonable and legitimate. Talk to your obstetrician to see if that can be arranged; if not, seek second opinion. Best of luck! ...Read more

Varies: Progesterone is a great medication proven to reduce pretty labor risk. If by injection, injections are usually given weekly. Or some use daily suppositories of progesterone. Most continue the meds until 36-37 weeks. After last dose of injection, it is assumed to work for 7 days. Suppositories effects are done when they stop use.
