Muscle pain: Brandon, seems like you have a "pulled muscle" which can cause sharp pain when used (turning your head). At your age, it should recover completely. Use heat (like in a hot shower) and stretch. Find rhomboid muscle stretch on youtube or some site and you will be fine. Why does my upper back on both shoulder blades hurt really bad? It's a sharp shooting pain on both sides.
Cervical radic: This could be from pinched cervical roots aka cervical radiculopathy, at your age the most common reason for it is a disk bulge/herniation.
