Back pain from scapula down, sore throat, headache, chills and shivers, mood swings, BUT NO FEVER, is meningitis still a possibility?

Possibly: Hi. There are many types of meningitis, some of which are not associated with fever. Fortunately, meningitis is rather uncommon. Any neck stiffness? Bothered by looking at bright lights? Cough or night sweats? You should see your doctor. A spinal fluid analysis may be indicated (or not - your doc will advise you on this). It may just be a pharyngitis with muscular back ache. Ask your doc. Good luck ...Read more

Fever up to 103.5, sore throat, dry cough, congestion, white post nasal drip, mild chest discomfort, headache, sweats and chills. Can it be flu?

Viral?: Since it is not the flu season yet (unless you live in the Southern hemisphere) , this is most likely a viral infection. However the temp of 103.5 is worrisome and thus one must rule out pneumonia. I think it is time to see your doctor. ...Read more

Be seen...: I am not sure what possibilities you have of seeing a health provider but in your age group persistent fever, and the symptoms you describe merit evaluation. See your PMD: My suggestion is for you to see your pmd to help find the cause of your problems- instead of going to er frequently. Your symptoms can be caused by different things like infection, connective tissue disorder/autoimmune disorder, as well as malignancy/cancer. Go to see your pmd. She/he would be able to take a careful history, examine you well and refer you to the right doctor and work-up/procedure. ...Read more
