Can sudden red rashes with severe severe deep pain on right side of the scalp, face and neck along with fever be anything else other than shingles?
Female 35. 1.5x2.5" red rash spinal area above tailbone. Mild pain, light blistering. Would suspect shingles if it was in any other location. Thoughts?
Blisters: If the eruption is only on one side of the spine, shingles is a definite possibility. If the eruptions are on both sides or in the middle other herpes infection is possibility. Since these are all treatable, I recommend that you be examined by your physician or dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can HSV 1or2 travel without contact or is it shingles?Shin has itchy blisters with shinbone/leg/groin pain/fatigue. Have had HSV forever.
See answer: If you have orofacial or genital herpes (hsv-1/hsv-2), you cannot transmit the infection to another part of your body after initial infection occurs.
