CT myelogram?: EMG/NCS is probably one of the top tests to discover what's going on. Sorry it's taking this long to get things squared away. A CT MYELOGRAM can often times show things regarding nerve root compression that an MRI will never show and so that's another imaging modality that could be useful. But you'll also need a SOLID NEUROLOGICAL EXAM as well. More questions? www.healthtap.com/drsaghafi ...Read more

May be pinched nerve: Two strong possibilities: 1) pinched nerve of the the low back 2) hip osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis of the hip is a result of wear & tear. This can be diagnosed by x-ray. Celebrex (celecoxib) is an anti-inflammatory med & could help. The electric shock sensation could be a radiculopathy, aka "pinched nerve" in, or "sciatica." Celebrex (celecoxib) could help, as could physical therapy, or an epidural steroid injection. ...Read more

Please repost: and explain what you mean by a "butt" scan. Medically there's no such thing as a "butt" scan. Abandon your unfortunate tendency to use vague colloquial words like "butt" and and state EXACTLY what the scan was called. What you need is a scan of your lumbosacral spine, not your "butt." ...Read more
