Why do I get red bumps on my legs after shaving? How do you treat this?

Shave gently: Irritation of hairs is worse if you press hard or go over the same area too many times. Shave very gently. Change the blade frequently. Use shaving cream. The longer you go between shaves the harder it is, so you may wish to shave more frequently. But spend less time at each shave. You may also consider chemical or electric shaves. Laser can be tried to reduce the number of hairs. Read more

Will applying rubbing alcohol to my legs before shaving help avoid razor bumps? What can else can I do? I have very sensitive skin

Unlikely: Razor bumps are due to irritation from shaving and ingrown hairs. Rubbing alcohol can dry out the skin and irritate sensitive skin even more. Try a fresh blade, shaving in direction of hair growth, use a thin layer of shaving cream, and gently exfoliate periodically. Sometimes depilatories or laser hair removal & not shaving at all gives the best relief & prevention! Read more
