Shaved a couple weeks ago, noticed a bump on my leg (might be from shaving) it hasn't gone away yet, and it's been 3 weeks, any advice? Met w/ nurse.
Shave gently: Irritation of hairs is worse if you press hard or go over the same area too many times. Shave very gently. Change the blade frequently. Use shaving cream. Unlikely: Razor bumps are due to irritation from shaving and ingrown hairs. Rubbing alcohol can dry out the skin and irritate sensitive skin even more. Try a fresh blade, shaving in direction of hair growth, use a thin layer of shaving cream, and gently exfoliate periodically. Without looking at the bumps it is difficult to tell you exactly what it may be. But red itchy bumps can be due to insect/bed bug bites, or contact dermatitis due to skin haveing had contact with an allegen.
You can use over the counter 1%hydrocortisone cream, and some Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or zyrtec to stop the ithcing, if it does not clear than see your doctor. ...Read more
Skin bumps: Please see a dermatologist for a skin exam. It is not possible to accurately diagnose a skin cancer without at least seeing it and possibly getting a biopsy.
