Muscle strain: is the likely culprit since you were lifting weights prior to the event. Based on your description of the location, you injured your latissimus dorsi, teres minor/major, or triceps. The important thing is to prevent injuring it again until it is fully healed. Advil can help. If the pain increases or becomes constant, consider a HealthTap Concierge video visit for further advice. ...Read more

Musculoskeletal: Most likely, it is a rib dysfunction and is pinching a nerve. However, it could be internal in the heart or lungs although these usually do not cause sharp pains with any kind of rhythmic occurence. I would start by seeing a osteopathic physician. ...Read more

Go see ur FamilyDoc: Sensitivity to touch makes me think of zoster/shingles (http://goo.gl/TaqS6s). Without that, I think of pleurisy which could due to pneumonia. Perhaps you overdid one of your upper body exercise routines (although this shouldn't usually cause pleurisy or painful breathing). Bottom line, you need to see your Family Doc for complete & thorough evaluation. ...Read more
