I have a sharp stabbing pain under my left rib.I thought it was a catch, but its lasted for 24hrs.Its a little painful to breath, awful if i move.Help?

Could be: Left lower lung problem, such as pneumonia, pleuritis, pulmonary embolus. Or it could be upper abdominal problem, such as stomach, pancreas, or spleen. Or it could be shingles. Jaw pain: Hello, it seems that with your history of a facial fracture and now jaw/neck pain, i would first think of tmj. The jaw joint may become inflamed and benefit from otc ibuprophen. I usually have patients use this as directed for 10 days. Also avoid repetitive jaw motion like gum chewing. See your doctor for confirmation. Physical therapy and possibly a dental splint while sleeping may help. ...Read more

Varies: There are several possible causes, usually a detailed exam can determine the cause. The two most common causes are a sciatica (which is an irritation of a nerve in the back causing pain down the leg) and a tendinitis of the hip (known as tensor fascia lata syndrome).
