Unclear.: You may have a viral syndrome. What you describe is not a usual complication of ECT. But you should inform the ECT doctor and the anesthesiologist: there is the chance that additional treatments need to be postponed.

Throat irritation: Your throat was irritated from any number of possibilities after your nap. You may have had a dry throat from mouth breathing or you are developing an infectious sore throat. Throat pain will commonly refer to the ear. You can take OTC analgesics, do warm salt water gargles, and observe for a few days. If it gets worse with other symptoms, see your doctor.

I have server ear pain I went to the ER and I do not have a ear infection I can barely early out of it and it has a sharp pain like stsbbing pain deep?

Think of jaw mucles: The answer that was posted about fluid is probably not correct. Firstly, a diagnosis of normal ears, if we accept that, is that the sharp pain could be facial neuralgia. But the most common cause of otalgia (pain in the side of the face when the ears are normal) is tmd (temporo-mandibular disorder). Otolaryngologists see this problem very frequently and masticatory muscle spasm is most likely.

I have stabbing ear pain. It gets worse at night. Is this normal?

TMJ: This could be the TMJ (temperomandibular joint). As you lay down, and turn to your side. You're likely putting pressure on the joint. Taking Motrin before bed might help but Motrin can disrupt sleep. An eval by your dentist or your local ENT may help as well.

What to do if one day I opened my car window and the day later I had a stabbing headache and a eye/ear pain, what do I do?

Probably unrelated: Exposure to outdoor air through a car window in the absence of a known trauma would not likely be related to the symptoms you have described. Your primary care physician can perform a hands on exam and help you figure this out!

See you PCP: Always pay attention to a new or recurrent/worsening pain. This could be a recurrent infection or mechanical damage from the previous infection. Or maybe you are grinding your teeth at night. A quick look in your ear and exam of the jaw and teeth should go a long way to ruling out these possibilities. It is always better to have things evaluated early BEFORE they have a chance to spread.

I keep getting a sharp stabbing pain in the back of my head on the left side, I've had a sore throat for 2 weeks, and an earache on left side.

Get seen: Don't wait, I suspect you have an undiagnosed infection, if it progresses you may get quite ill. It's really impossible to say based on your description. You have waited long enough- get an answer, a primary doctor or ENT can help. Get help and get better

Periodically I get the most severe stabbing pain in the outside of my ear, no earache, no cold no allergies. Just happens out of the blue.?

Periodically I get the most severe stabbing pain in the outside of my ear, no earache, no cold no allergies. Just happens out of the blue.?

Outside of your ear.: Are you referring to the front of your ear? A sudden, electric shock like pain in the face on one side may be due to a condition called trigeminal neuralgia. There are treatments for this, and your physician can examine you and take a history to diagnose this.

Random sharp ear pain?

Neuritic pain: Sharp stabbing pain in the ear is rarely the result of ear infection which is persistent pain associated with hearing loss. Two possible reasons could be firing off of nerves that innervate the region of the ear (trigeminal neuralgia) or the pain may be arising from structures around the ear as the jaw joint or the muscles of mastication.

Sudden sharp left ear pain that is brief and random.?

Sudden sharp left ear pain that is brief and random.?

Couple thots: You may be experiencing pain primarily within the temporomandibular joint (tmj syndrome), that is referred to the ear. A dental eval may help to confirm. A rare condition called "nervous intermedius neuralgia" typically causes intense pain lasting several minutes to hours, and can be confirmed if loss of taste on the same side. An ENT doc may help with this. Mastoid problems may be considered.

Random, sharp ear pain, sometimes accompanied by ringing in the ear. Do you know why this happens?

Many causes: The ear pain can be from your ear or from structures around your ear. Ear causes of ear pain are accompanied by fluid coming out of your ears or hearing loss. Ear pain from surrounding structures include sore throat, your tmj, etc. You need to be examined to rule in or rule out an ear cause of ear pain.

Needs to be checked: It is very difficult for us to answer what has been causing sharp excruciating pain in your ear for more than a year You need to consult an ENT Specialist who will take a detailed history like what other if any symptoms are and if there is hearing loss.history of wax build up. Past history of any ENT problems etc. And a thorough exam of your ear, nose and throat to find the cause Don't waste time
