Probably not serious: Probably not a serious problem but it depends on how long you have been having these transient pains behind your left eye/ear. If the pains have been present for more than one month and if they are present most of the day then you should see you physician and consider an MRI of the head. Sounds like: possible variant MIGRAINE.. cluster headches are one variety.
