It : It is very unlikely that you are pregnant since it has been 4 weeks, you have had a period in that time, and you used protection. Pain in this area is very tricky since there are many organ systems in the epigastric area and right upper quadrant of the abdomen. - stomach - problems such as gastroesophageal reflux, gastritis, and stomach ulcers can cause pain in these areas - usually worse with eating and worse while laying down - pancreas - pancreatitis, pancreatic stones/blockages can cause epigastric pain, sometimes radiating to the back - liver/gallbladder - hepatitis, gall stones or gall bladder disease can cause pain in the right upper quadrant - intestinal - duodenal ulcers, infections and constipation can cause pain there because the colon loops up into that area - kidney - kidney stones or infections can cause pain in the right upper quadrant, though many people feel it in their backs. - gyne - ovarian pain from a cyst or even an infection from a sexually transmitted disease can cause pain in the right upper quadrant. And all those are just a few of the things that could be going on! so, your best option is to be seen by a doctor and examined to determine the cause of your pain. Reasons to go to the er are: - high fever - bloody stool - bright green or bloody vomit - severe or worsening pain - difficulty breathing. ...Read more

On may 16 i had a moderate sharp pain in lower right abdomen (lra). Now i'm having minor sharp pain in lra that comes and goes. What could this be?

Ovarian cyst: Probably an ovarian cyst since the pain comes and goes. Other option would be your appendix, but this would likely cause persistently worsening pain and fever. Keep your weight down within normal range, obesity causes more cysts because the fat tissue secretes an estrogen like substance that screws up your menstration and exposes the ovaries to too much estrogen. ...Read more

Sharp pain in lower right abdomen? Appendicitis is not a quick sharp pain, right?

Sharp pain in lower right abdomen? Appendicitis is not a quick sharp pain, right?

No: Appendicitis starts with about 8 hours of pain around the belly button, and then moves to the right lower abdomen, becomes sharper, and steadily more severe within 12-24 hours to the point that you can't stand it and go to the er. This sounds more like muscle spasms in one of the three muscles that make up the abdominal wall, but you should see your primary provider for an evaluation. God luck! ...Read more

For gas bubble (relative constipation) look to see if your diet is full of fiber and minerals, exercise daily and drink water. A localised leaking cyst on your ovary (happens every month) can make this a passing problem.. Always see your doctor for a proper exam, if not better after a few days. ...Read more
