I am getting a lot of lower back pain & sharp pain on LH in back of rib cage. Is this detox & kidney?
The kidneys are paired organs that lie on either side of the vertebral column. Part of their critical functions include the excretion of urine and removal of nitrogenous wastes products from the blood. They regulate acid-base, electrolyte, fluid balance and blood pressure. Through hormonal signals, the kidneys control the ...Read more
Dull but acute upper left back pain after smoking. No cough, sputum, shortness, heaviness. Not disc or muscle. X-ray neg. Quit cigs today. Advice?
Ibuprofen: That occasionally happens with smoking or right after quitting. You may have had some inflammation, an infection, or fluid behind your lung. It should go away on its own, especially if the chest x-ray was negative. But follow up with your doctor anyways of it persists more than a few days. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
3 days ago after sex I've suffered with Lower right abdominal pain back pain and pain while walking&sitting down?
Air?: It could be that air was pushed inside the abdomen through the uterus, through the fallopian tubes. It shouldn't be an infection, you wouldn't get one that fast. It could be a problem with the ovary or appendix but less likely, they would be very severe. ...Read more

3 yrs heavy drinking, 1 yr smoking, bloodtest shows kidney/liver function ok. Dull pain in lower right back, burning in abdomen.
Impossible to say: If you had blood tests because of these symptoms, i would hope that they also did tests for pancreatic damage, particularly a lipase (or an older test, amylase). Are you still drinking, despite the pain? If so, i would be very concerned. Easiest way to find if they are related is to stop and see what happens. Gastritis or even a peptic ulcer is a more common problem, and alcohol makes it worse. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hi, corner of tray hit above rightfloating rib cage,2 years ago bearable pain get worse after drinking alcohol liver pancreas blood test normal help?
RUQ pain: Have your tests included an ultrasound and or ct scan to thoroughly evaluate the right upper quadrant of the abdomen? I would be interested in checking for gall stones, rib cage abnormalities, although sludge in the gall bladder or certain gall stones may not be visualized. If symptoms persist consultation with a gastroenterologist or abdominal surgeon would be worthwhile. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

? kidney stone: What you have described sounds more like a kidney stone than anything else . On the rt lower side appendicitis is also a concern. But many other possibilities such as bulging disc. Etc. It depends if he has other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, numbness, weakness, urinary symptoms etc. More info would help but with extreme pain it is best you take him to er for testing. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
bad Chest pain. Center of chest below ribcage. And the pain goes to my bacK. E.r. Dr. Said to quit smoking. I've never smoked?.
Forget the ER doc: Shame on the ER doc for not knowing you're a non-smoker. Pain in that location which radiates to the back is really more in the abdomen than chest. 2 concerns I would have are: pancreatitis and peptic ulcer. You need further eval. Please see your family doc or go to a different ER if you otherwise don't have access to care. ...Read more
