Get X-ray if...: Sounds like a contusion to your thigh. (bruise). If you are able to walk and weight bear on that side a fractured femur (thigh bone)extremely unlikely. Contusions to kneecap (prepatellar bursitis) is very common w/ your mechanism of injury and can refer pain proximally. So are thigh contusions. Rice is appropriate. If pain continues, swelling increases, or pain localizes to knee. .. See md...Gl.

Inner upper thigh/groin ache/burning pain. 4 days. Saw a Dr. Who Did not think it is dvt as I was worried. Could she have missed it in examination?

Circulation issue: In DVT. If there is a clot on one side blocking all the veins coming back from all the leg, then all the circulation out from there would be blocked. There would be huge swelling. The test (doppler) is simple, not very expensive, nonpainful and non risky. Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, it wouldn't likely be done.

What causes pain and burning down the front of the left upper thigh and leg, right above knee?

Depends on your His-: Tory, if any injury or past hx of it. One of the diseases (with type of symptoms like the one you have), is called meralgia paresthetica. With pain/tingling over the front ; outer aspect of the thigh, from being pinched in the area of the outer end of the groin crease. Pain meds + stretching exercises are helpful. 2 injuries or 1+: 1st may have been a more serious injury than u thought, hamstring tear & now more easily injured, & will b a chronic problem. Especially if it took a long time 2 heal. If u had a short recovery & then pain free up 2 the time of injury # 2, it may b just the luck of the draw. Solved by not doing it any more. Now pain may b hamstring attachment inflammation & may b chronic. Warm up, nsaids, act mod.

Thyroid nodule, upper thigh pain/burning! Boil on r.Leg too...Should I go on to the er?

Thyroid nodule, upper thigh pain/burning! Boil on r.Leg too...Should I go on to the er?

The ER: Can't help with a thyroid nodule. A lower leg (calf?) boil is unlikely to cause thigh discomfort in the absence of extensive soft tissue infection which would cause skin redness, pain, and fever. Overall, unless you feel acutely ill, visiting your family clinician is likely the best route.

What can cause a random hot, burning sensation on the left inner thigh about 2.5 inches above the knee? This has escalated to a sharp searing pain.

What can cause a random hot, burning sensation on the left inner thigh about 2.5 inches above the knee? This has escalated to a sharp searing pain.

Entrapment?: If pain is truly random, i.e., not related to position or activity, you might have an entrapment neuropathy of a branch of medial femoral cutaneous nerve--not a common condition. Knee problems often cause pain in that area. Are you having joint stiffness, clicking, locking, swelling, heat?

I ve been plagued by sharp burning pain in the front upper region of my right thigh for about five days now it comes and goes randomly whether I m wal?

Pinched nerve: This pain is often seen in patient with l3, L4 radiculopathy (pinched nerve in the spine) or a femoral nerve lesion (this nerve comes out from groin area and covers front part of the thigh). A neurologist can sort this out.

I turned and twisted my right knee 2week later knelt down burning pain and sharp pain up leg?

I turned and twisted my right knee 2week later knelt down burning pain and sharp pain up leg?

Knee vs back?: From this description, it is hard to say for sure. Your prior knee event suggests maybe and injury to the soft tissues outside, or inside the knee. The burning and sharp pain up leg may not fit well with this, yet a more detailed history and physical exam would be useful with your PCP, an orthopedist, or Physiatrist. In meantime, consider anti-inflammatories (if ok for you to take), ice, rest.
