Depends on cause: Elevated liver enzymes reflect liver cell injury and the consquences depend on the cause. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, alcohol is the cause of bad lab results. Alcohol and tobacco are bad individually and they are more than twice as bad together.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. SGOT / SGPT: These are better markers for damage. SGPT 38, SGOT 28 are not concerning though they're higher than most young men's. Some men run a high GGT even if they don't drink and this shouldn't be taken as proving anything. Not necessarily, but: In it of itself, sgpt/sgot and uric acid level changes don't have a direct correlation to pain in the heel. There are several etiologiest to heel pain. However, elevated uric acid levels may indicate a gout condition and changes in sgpt/sgot incidate may indicate liver issues. ...Read more
