Sexually Active At Old Age
I am 70 years old, not sexually active, post menopause (age 50) and have a brownish discharge. Should I go to urgent care or my primary doctor?
Any adult age: Sexual activity is a serious issue with many aspects that might not be uppermost in the minds of younger people. A mature outlook is important. Generally 18 years is a reasonable cut off point. Below this age, judgement is suspect even though the anatomy and lust are there. After that most are mature enough to engage in the full spectrum of sexual activity. ...Read more

What to do if I have a 23-year-old son and tells me that he is secreting pus with his urine. He is sexually active. . .?
Buy him condoms: He's too big for you to lecture him. He wants to be loved, not scolded. And have him get to his physician to determine whether this is a discharge from a sexually trnasmitted disease, or whether this is white blood cells in the urine from some cause that the physician must determine. Congratulations on being a parent of a young man who actually comes to you for advice. Best wishes to you both. ...Read more

It depends upon: It depends upon the time of the month of your menstrual cycle. Very high risk for pregnancy if you are ovulating. I am married at age 23yrs. But I am just sexually active for 2yrs. Altogether only 3-4 months, after that no relation. Should I get papsmeartest?
You are at low: Risk for cervical cancer with little sexual activity. But the main idea is to start being screened for cervical cancer about 3 years after the onset of sexual activity. The HPV virus, if contracted, is not expected to cause cervical cellular changes for several years. So when it has been 3 years since sexual activity onset, I would recommend a Pap smear. Hope this helps. Best wishes:) ...Read more
Sexually active on 11/23 late cycle this month what I'm having i bled heavy for 2 days &since day 3 been from old blood to new blood what's wrong?
Hi, I'm 17 years old and male. Is being sexually active holding me bavk from growing anymore In any way? Can anything in my diet push me to grow more?
Healthy lifestyle: You are most likely to reach your tallest potential height by following a healthy diet, getting appropriate sleep & and remaining physically active. Nothing you eat or drink will add inches. Sexual activity has no effect. Most males are finished growing by 17.A xray of your wrist/hand could be studied for growth centers. If closed, you are finished, if open you couldgrow more. ...Read more
I am 32 years old and always regular 28 days cycle. But cycle is becoming irregular from the time I got sexually active after marriage. Is it normal?
Ii have been sexually active since the age of 16. Ii am now 21. Should II be getting smear tests? When II called to book one they said not till im 25.
Now is good: Most offices start checking with onset of sexual activity so you can be checked for STDs which can affect fertility. Definitely get screened at 21 if you're sexually active. Once you've been screened with normal smears & (-)hpv tests; then your doc can help you decide how often to be checked. I do have pts who need treatment for high-grade pap smears in their teens. Call again or switch offices. ...Read more

Hello, im 28 years old and ttc. Husband said he has been sexually active 10 years and not empragnated any of his partners, is he infertile?
Maybe (not) . . .: If he's had unprotected sex for 10yrs w/o fathering any children, then he might be infertile (or very lucky) but that also depends upon how many times/partners during this decade. The Easiest way to find out is semen or sperm analysis. His family doc can order this test (well, maybe not in the philippines but at least here in the states). And since you're ttc, ask your OB or family doc about folate (folic acid). ...Read more
What do you suggest if I am 20 yrs old years old and I am sexually active with my boyfriend. The last time I had sex was maybe 3 weeks ago?
I'm 19 years old and my erection weakened. I had a really strong erection and I've been sexually active for 4 years. Can it be too much sex?
No: Too much sex will not weaken your erection, unless you're having it so frequently that you're still in a refractory period. Common causes of erectile dysfunction in otherwise healthy young me include anxiety and depression. If you have normal erections during masturbation, that makes it more likely that the cause is psychological. ...Read more
How can I get harder erections at 16 years old? I've noticed my erections are getting weak how can I avoid this because I'm sexually active right now.
Performance anxiety?: Easy question, "hard" answer. Your erections are dependent on the amount of blood flowing into the venous sinus' of the penis AND the brain stimuli/desire. If you are exhausted, anxious, worried about how "hard things can be" well, erections will not be "easy". By the way, forget about all the men's magazine pill remedies for this, they simply don't work. ...Read more

Yes: You can. However, it really is not recommended and not needed. The papsmear screens for cervical cancer. However, there are many false positives (tests looks abnormal when it is really fine) and that leads to unnecessary and potentially harmful biopsies and surgeries on the cervix. That is why papsmears are usually not done at an early age. Better to get the hpv vaccine or tested for infections. ...Read more
