Partner has cold sore and sex occurs (no oral-genital contact) is risk of genital herpes? Transfer from hands possible? How long until symptoms occur?

Herpes New Info: The way you are wording this question is almost impossible to interpret.

First all sexually active adults must have a blood test to see what their herpes exposure history is. The place of the sores do not count anymore.

There is no transmission of herpes from one part of one's body to another. Hsv 1 is very common and hsv 2 I much less common.

Get the blood tests and then we can solve this. ...Read more

Can a male who has contracted genital gonorrhea from receiving oral sex, infect a female through oral sex? Or must the infected genital make contact?

Can a male who has contracted genital gonorrhea from receiving oral sex, infect a female through oral sex? Or must the infected genital make contact?

Oral sex which way?: Gonorrhea is only transmitted from the infected site, and it doesn't travel through the body to other places. If you have untreated urethral (penile) gonorrhea and a partner performs oral sex on you, she can acquire oral gonorrhea. You can't give it by performing oral sex. However, you should not be having ANY sex until and unless your gonorrhea has been treated and cured. ...Read more

When you have a sex change to you get real opposite genders genitals?

Doctor not magician: When you have a sex change, the goal is to make a reasonable facsimile of the gender genitals that the patient needs, especially in regards to function which is why it is easier to go from male to female than vice versa. Obviously we can never achieve perfection but even nature fails to do that. It depends on what your definition of "real" is. If it looks, sounds and walks like a duck...? ...Read more

Not in Reputable Ctr: Gender reassignment includes the understanding of a need to have a way out if the patient has second thoughts. All the herpes viruses are similar to each other and can occur in areas where they traditionally do not. Fortunately medications are available that can help control breakouts. Ask your doctor about Valtrex (valacyclovir) ...Read more
