Unprotected sex on birth control. Last day of regular pill, period due today/tomorrow. Risk of pregnancy?
Contraceptiion is a means of preventing conception (or fertilization). There are hormonal and non hormonal methods of preventing sperm and egg from meeting. I'm on birth control pills, is it ok to have unprotected sex on the last fertile day of my fertile week?
On the pill?: A woman on birth control pills, taking them properly, and beyond her first pack of pills... has no fertile day and has no fertile week. She is not fertile when on birth control pills. That means she has protection against pregnancy every day, regardless of where she is in her pill pack. However, adding condoms can protect against some STD diseases, and may decrease vaginal odor or discharge. ...Read more
Had sex on b control with azithromicin tablets and birth control.. Would those increase ovulation right away, risking pregnancy?
Sex 10 days after abortion, on day 7 of birth control pill had sex before 7th pill with condom/plan b too 24 hours after, chances of pregnancy?
? pregnant: WOW!!! - Given that scenario and not knowing your menstrual information - there is a possibility - birth control pills take a full month of taking them to be effective so thus if you just started and are on day 7 when you had sex - they won't protect you. The condom and Plan B are your best protection at this point. A urine pregnancy test will be useless due to the recent pregnancy. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Does Next Choice One Dose impact the effectiveness of your regular birth control pills? Took this bc I took birth control 1 hour late
No, not at all.: Next Choice and other "morning after" pills have hormones similar to those in OCP's, just in higher doses. While we advise taking the pill at the same time every day, taking it one hour late will not decrease its effectiveness. Also, using the "morning after" regimen when you're already taking the Pill regularly, is an unnecessary expense and an unnecessary exposure to hormone side effects. ...Read more

Does taking birth control pills different time and have unprotected sex with husband still effectively?
Birth control: If you have been taking your oral contraceptives as directed and on time every day, the chance of pregnancy is very small. If you have irregular use of the pill, the risk of pregnancy increases, with progesterone only pills being more likely to fail if not taken at the same time. Consider a second form of birth control until your next period. Then make a point to take the pills on time. ...Read more
I missed one of my birth control pills and had unprotected sex the day after. No period this month, but i recently switched birth control pills. Help!
Had unprotected sex with partner. Currently on birth control pill trinessa (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol) for a year. Took plan b one step 5-7 hours after sex. Pregnant or no?
I wouldn't: It is best to have a OCP in service for a month or more before you begin to rely on it. Use of another form of BC is necessary. The OCP generally works by fooling your body into thinking you are already pregnant, and not ovulating. It does not suddenly make all intercourse worry free the date you start it. ...Read more
On Generess FE, finished high dose Amoxicillin prescription on day 6 of new pack - chance of pregnancy if unprotected sex during cycle with no missed pills?
No period 2 weeks after stopping birth control. Had protected sex a few times and took birth control on time almost every time. Pregnant?
Pregnancy test...: The only way to know if you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test. Chances of pregnancy are decreased with protected sex and appropriate use of birth control pills; however, neither is 100%. Take a pregnancy test. The hormonal changes involved with stopping the pill can affect your period; however, if your cycle doesn't normalize be sure to follow up with your gynecologist. ...Read more
