Stress, pain.: It could be from anesthesia, reaction to the medication you are taking, including your pain medication, could be constipation which is popular after this kind of surgery.it could be caffeine withdraw if you are not drinking as much as you use to.

Absolutely yes.: Afrin & generics (oxymetazoline) are safe to use before surgery. Afrin shrinks the blood vessels & improves air flow thru the nasal passages; very little is absorbed into the blood stream. However, if you stop using it, your nasal congestion may be worse than it was before you started it. Consider using external nasal strips in place of Afrin @ bedtime. They work just as well.
