Right upper abdominal pain, under rib cage when walking for the past 3 months. After recent flight feel pain also at night spreading to back. Concerns?

Biliary colic: You may have gall bladder disease, i.e. Stones. A frequent symptom is being awakened at night with RUQ pain and radiation around o the back, caused by a stone rolling into the neck of the gall bladder and obstructing the cystic duct. An ultrasound of the gall bladder should be done to diagnose this.

Abdominal pain gets very bad at night, causes pain come and go in chest. Throbbing back pain. Nauseating. And causes pain under rib cage. Not pregnant?

Requires examination: It is difficult to comment without examination. Pain in the rib cage could be originating in the cartilage, muscles, nerves or bone or from surrounding structures such at the diaphragm, liver, lungs, pancreas and spleen. An ectopic pregnancy can also cause the pain you are describing. An examination by a Dr is needed and possibly an Ultrasound scan and blood tests would be needed.

Recurring utis, lower left back pain under rib cage, high white blood cell count in urine, nausea, weakness. Causes?

Pyelonephritis: It sounds like you have pyelonephritis/ renal infection. You could have infected kidney stones or an obstructing ureteral stone. You could have vessico-ureteral reflux or a large post void bladder residual. I would recommend that you see a urologist and get a renal/bladder ultrasound and voiding cysto-urethrogram. Good luck.

Too young for cancer: You should consult your doctor if the pain does not go away in 2 weeks. Pancreatic Cancer is not the likely cause in your case as it is extremely rare under the age of 40 years.

Hi I'm having right side pain under rib cage and lower back pain that is releaved when I have a bowl movement. I'm also have nausea.

Start with water: Try to increase water intake and maybe also fiber intake to get a more even consistency to your stool. If having regular bowel movements results in minimization of the discomfort then this was the problem. If symptoms persist then you probably need to see your doctor in order to evaluate for other things like gallbladder problems.

Right sided rib pain: Could be gastritis for which you could try over the counter ranitidine and or prevecid or could be gallbladder. Follow up with doc and consider ultrasound to check gallbladder.

Bile duct stone?: There are a number of tests, ultrasound, mrcp that you could have to rule out a retained or new primary gallstone in your bile ducts. If these are clear an EGD/ERCP may help. IF negative you may need additional testing. If it is not a stone then review your meds. Many things can cause right sided pain. See a surgeon or GI doc

Can a lipoma in your back cause pain that also feels like a fullness in your abdomen on the left under rib cage

Can a lipoma in your back cause pain that also feels like a fullness in your abdomen on the left under rib cage

Unlikely: Lipoma's are usually subcutaneous or in some cases intramuscular. However it would be very unlikely that an isolated lipoma on your back would be causing you these other symptoms. It's best to check it out with your primary.

I'm 30. No alcohol. Pain in middle right side of abdomen, tucked under rib cage. When I bend into that side it feels like rib pokes tender area. Cause?

Get checked out: Right side of your abdomen under rib cage is where your liver and gall bladder live. A good doc can examine your liver to see if it's tender. A blood test can reveal irritation to the liver cells or gall bladder.
If organs are ok, Structurally, there can be dysfunction of the tissue/nerve/bone system in that area--an osteopath or PT or good yoga session might help.

See you MD: You need to get a complete history and physical, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging as well as possible endoscopy to evaluate the source of your distress. Severe pain under rib cage on both sides, gradually getting worse. Had bloodwork done on liver and gallbladder. But came back fine?

First tests are okay: Your doc is in the process of evaluating you as an outpatient. With the first tests being normal, your doc will likely get additional tests like a gallbladder ultrasound, egd, ct scan. Stay with your doc and eventually you will get a diagnosis. Be well.
