No: I would recommend alternating between otc Motrin and tylenol (acetaminophen) every 3-4 hours for short term pain relief. See the dentist as soon as possible for definitive treatment of the tooth in question. Definitive treatment is root canal or extraction. ...Read more

Bummer: Root canals may fail over time by loosing their seal. Another possibility is a cracked root. My advice would be to see an endodontist, root canal specialist to evaluate whether the tooth can be saved. 10 year on root canals is around 90%. ...Read more
