I am in severe pain, left neck, shoulder, & clavicle area. I have swelling about 3 inches across, in the cs joint area, very tender to touch. ?
Abscess: You may be describing an abscess or pus pocket eg painful swelling. Best to go see your Family Doc ASAP for evaluation & treatment as you may need to get swelling lanced & drained then started on antibiotics. Go to Urgent Care or ER if necessary. Yes: We've noticed more recently that clavicle fractures don't heal as well as we had originally thought. I'd see an orthopedist, get x-rays to see if you have a nonunion and potentially have it fixed if its bothering you that much. ...Read more

Shoulder/arm/radiating pain could be from 1) referred sources including: neck, abdomen, and heart. 2) shoulder sources include: arthritis, labral tears, instability, tendinitis, rotator cuff tears, bursitis, painful bony spurs etc. Therefore proper diagnosis is essential to stopping the pain. ESI: Esi is indicated for arm pain or leg pain associated with a pinched nerve—whether disc herniation, bone spur, or spinal stenosis. Any of these problems usually respond well, at least temporarily, to esi. If you do not have an MRI to confirm, then there is less ability to predict success with this injection.
