Not Normal: Swollen neck nodes is common and often is from infection. Can be bacterial (like strep throat) or viral (like "mono"). Other more serious problems should be considered if it doesn't get better. This could include hodgkins disease or non-hodgkins lymphoma and would require a biopsy for diagnosis. There's several possible diagnoses, and regardless of which one, Depakote is a medicine I'd hesitate to prescribe to a 29 year old woman. It has long term side effects including weight gain, hair loss, and tremor and can cause birth defects.
