Medication complicat: The symptoms are from the atenolol and if they are from that med you probably have an intolerance to all beta blockers and medication metabolized by cytochrome p450 system in the liver.

Have lupus. Get on/off bad muscle pain/stiffness (legs, hips, back, arms) x1 month. My rheum said c3, c4 normal. OTC meds don't help. Do I have to live w/it?

Need more Info: There is a family of muscle disease referred to as non-inflammatory myopathy and this appears likely to roll into one of them and can include muscular dystrophy, metabolic/toxic diseases, and mitochondrial diseases which can also give a similar picture.
